"Synchroncity" is a term Carl Jung developed to indicate meanful coincidences in time. In our search for our place and our horses, we also found ourselves.
After we met, we began on our quest to find a horse ranch. Even doors that were closed to us provided inspiration. After two years of fruitless efforts to obtain a dude ranch in Colorado, we decided to take a weekend off and bring our horses to the Withalacoochee Forest in Brooksville, Florida. Our first impression of the forest was magical and serene.
On our second trip to the forest, we stumbled across a weathered property that was in need of some tender loving care. Over the course of the week John and I were overcome with the desire to live and work there. Fortunately, it was also for sale. The following week we bought the property.
When we proudly displayed our newly acquired treasure, people were aghast. They were certain that we had made a terrible mistake and lost no time in telling us so.They all kept talking about what we were "giving up" instead of seeing what we were getting.
Over the next year we became regulars at the local dump. We were even on a first name basis.
With the second year most of the debris had been cleared.We began to invest in our family and build fences on our way to our dream of a "White Light Ranch".
By the end of the second year we had two new arrivals.The first was named Claire de Lune followed by Celeste.
We also acquired our stallion "Escudero", a Bay Andalusian. His first offspring arrived in March of 2005. His progeny now number ten and include Pure Andalusians, Aztecas, Iberian Warmbloods, and Hispano Arab.
